Javier D. Fernández

CV

Dr. Javier D. Fernández is a post-doctoral research fellow at Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU). His current research focuses on efficient management of Big Semantic Data, privacy-aware Big Data technologies and archiving and querying dynamic Linked Data. He holds a PhD in Computer Science by the University of Valladolid (Spain), and the University of Chile (Chile), performing this double diploma thanks to an Erasmus Mundus grant. Before he joined the WU, he worked at the Ontology Engineering Group (OEG) at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain), and the Dipartimento di Ingegneria Informatica Automatica e Gestionale at  Sapienza Università di Roma (Italy). Dr. Javier D. Fernández has published more than 60 articles in the area - a particular highlight is HDT, a binary RDF representation for scalable publishing, exchanging and consumption in the Web of Data.
